Car Crash at Gladiola Involves Teen Driver
A Monday crash at Gladiola involved two vehicles, one a 1951 Chevrolet driven by Johnny Townsend of Gladiola, the other a 1946 Chevrolet owned by L B Townsend. A teen, 17, the driver of the second car, is to report to juvenile officer Less Villers. Excessive speed and reckless driving were cited by the sheriff's office as causes, with one car overturning three times. Tatum ambulance and a wrecker responded.

A Hobbs blaze Monday evening at 7 55 p m destroyed 20000 worth of property. The City Body Shop and Click Motor Service were completely lost while Baker Electric suffered roof and sign damage. Fire began when a leaking butane truck at Neal Motors ignited after a motor swap left 5 percent remaining. Driver Don Spencer suffered first and second degree burns and was treated at the hospital.

Dunlap Attends Uncle's Funeral in Breckenridge Texas
W O Dunlap Jr of Tatum attended the funeral of his uncle Walter Dunlap in Breckenridge Texas on December 2. He was accompanied by his father W O Dunlap Sr and his brother Cecil of Clovis. Walter Dunlap was 81 and died of a heart attack after an illness of pneumonia.
