Pep Club Honors Wildcats With Annual Football Banquet
The Lovington High Pep Club honored the 1950 football squad with a December 2 banquet in the high school library. Home Economics girls supervised by Miss Inez Dykstra served a large meal to players, Pep Club members, coaches, and guests. Betty Anderson presided and Emma Lou Stoneham gave the invocation.

Sift flour baking powder and salt then mix in sugar margarine and eggs with milk. Fold in gum drops then drop spoonfuls on a greased sheet bake at 375 F about 10 12 minutes yields six dozen. Christmas Nuggets with currants pecans and milk follows same method yields five dozen.

The St. Thomas Altar Society hosted a two session bingo and canasta benefit in Llano Lea Room with a Christmas tree and motif. Ed Bohatch won both afternoon and evening grand prizes, an electric iron popper. Door prize went to C T Sparkman and R L Turnacliff won a records album grand prize.

Twenty three Dorcas Class members gathered Friday night for their monthly social at the First Baptist Church. Hostesses were Mrs W T Myers Mrs Glen Wolfrum and Mrs Helen Doughdrill. A $250 check from Mc Alester Fuel Co supported the kitchen project. The group will send a Christmas box to New Mexico Indians and a Lovington family. The next meeting is December 15 at Mrs Guy Boyd’s home for a Christmas party with gift exchanges.
