The two month old son of Hobbs city engineer Donald Benge died Sunday at 9 a.m. of pneumonia after hospital treatment. Survivors include his parents a sister Sharron Lee three grandparents and several Albuquerque relatives. Funeral services were held at Griffin Funeral Home with Rev Clyde Campbell officiating and burial at Prairie Haven.

Three Hobbs youths receive suspended jail terms
In Hobbs District Court three young men faced sentencing for home burglary and a false check charge. Isaiah Dabney and Willie Ellia Brice drew 1 to 2 years in the state pen but with all time suspended for 60 days, while Leuice Dennis Hilliard received 1 to 2 years with 90 days suspended to county jail and credit for time served.
