A two day event featured barbecue with ample food, a Lovington Comedy Co performance after a ballpark show, and a moving picture show with dancing. Large crowds from Kiewles Valley and the Plains attended with clear weather both days.
Artesia visited Levington for a baseball game described as one sided with Artesia as the clear winner. Rooters showed strong support as players displayed effort though the score was not recorded due to crowding and unclear notes.
The Picnic committee hired the best players in the country to entertain Lovington residents, aiming to provide premier entertainment with no expense spared. The event showcases local goodwill and a strong community effort to present high quality performances from Gulf of Mexico to Dominion Canada.

Mrs. Lonnie Young died at the Young home on Tuesday night after weeks of illness. She leaves a husband and two small children. The bereaved family includes her parents Mr. and Mrs. Murphy of Mitchell County Texas and sister Mrs. O N Marchman. Mr. Young will take the children to spend the fall with their grandparents in Texas.
