The Lovington community denies any past or planned saloon. Residents say there is strong opposition, no support, and no intent to permit alcohol sales, warning that false reports threaten the town’s progress and safety.
Fink E. Beckwith has closed a deal to take charge of the Lovington Local Telephone. Mrs Beckwith will operate the board while Mr Beckwith handles the line. They will maintain existing charges and business order and aim to expand lines to ranches as possible.
Notice is given that Charles W Fairweather of Lovington New Mexico filed notice of intention to make final ten year proof for a land claim in Section 13 Township 8 Range 35 E New Mexico Principal Meridian. The proof is to be presented at the Roswell land office on September 9 1912.
Samuel C Lovejoy of Lovington New Mexico filed intent to make final three year proof to establish a land claim for lot W2? in Section 1 Township 16 South Range 37 East N M P M. before Wesley McCallister U S Commissioner at Lovington New Mexico on Sept 2 1912. A large turnout gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. P. S. Eaves on August 6 to celebrate Grace Ancell and Mary Eaves. The evening featured games and music with ice cream and cake. Guests praised the hosts and wished the young ladies many future joys and rosy paths.

Last Saturday Levington traveled to McDonald to face Plainview and posted a 15 to 2 victory. Only a few locals attended. they plan another game tomorrow at the ball park.
