Budget Approved For Education In New Mexico
The State Board of Education approved a 2.963 million operating budget for the Department of Education for the coming fiscal year, about 500 thousand less than this year due to cuts in federal funds. It also authorized 29.5 million in federal flow through funds for programs such as Indian education and vocational training. A 1 million line item for Vocational Rehabilitation was approved, with 52 million in federal funds.
