Speed Limits On State Roads Will Go Up
The New Mexico Highway Department plans to raise speed limits on several highways and on interstates from 70 to 75 mph following 1973 legislation. The U S Senate urged states to lower limits to conserve fuel, asking for a 55 mph cap, but final action was pending.
