Funeral services are set for Bobby N. Teel 26 of Hobbs who died in a Lubbock hospital after a fall from a moving fire truck. Services will be Saturday at 2 30 PM at the First Baptist Church in Hobbs.
Reies Lopez Tijerina urged about 60 followers at a night rally to redouble efforts to gain land in northern New Mexico. He spoke in Spanish from a pickup bed and outlined plans for a municipal building and a cattle drive through Carson and Santa Fe National Forests to dramatize the Alianza claim.

Ida May Elkins an 18 year old cowhand was knocked from her horse by a lightning strike at the Great Western Land and Cattle Co trail drive at Counselors New Mexico. She was dazed but unharmed and will not ride the next day as the drive of 700 Charolais yearlings proceeds toward Pagosa Springs.
