High Speed Chase Ends With Juvenile Arrest Near Willcox

A high speed pursuit from Lordsburg to Willcox, Arizona, led to the arrest of two Bridge City, Texas youths aged 14 and 15. Law enforcement, including Hidalgo County deputies and New Mexico State Police, pursued a stolen car on I-10, with a roadblock near San Simon and a final stop just outside Willcox. Minor damage to a state police unit occurred. no injuries.

Lordsburg AARP Chapter Receives Charter

The Lordsburg Chapter of AARP was granted its charter on Monday September 25 at the Civic Center. State Director Robert Baldino from Rio Rancho and Assistant State Director Ester Tunks of Deming attended. The group, formed in 1975 with Orin Barney as president, now meets charter requirements. Alice Martin, the local president, was praised as the charter plaque was presented. Baldino noted AARP’s 50 000 New Mexico members and the community voice of retirees.
