New Style Driver's License Issued Beginning October First
Patrick Montoya announces that starting Wednesday October 1 1986 the Motor Vehicle Division offices will issue a new style driver license. The front shows similar data with a blue background replacing red and black typed data on white. The back lists class codes medical restrictions and organ donor info. The license is 2 3/4 by 1 3/4 inches, in a heavier plastic pouch expanding to 3 1/2 by 2 inches. The product remains valid until about September 1990. License fee remains 10 dollars.

Knights Sponsor Annual Soap Box Derby Return
The Soap Box Derby, once in limbo after Heidi Anderson could not sponsor, will be held October 25 and 26 with the Knights of Phythias sponsoring. Three categories return: 19 and over open 14-19 high school and under 14 juniors. The race repeats the 1984 1985 rules at Water Tank Hill.

Lordsburg Chamber Banquet Set for October 20
The annual Lordsburg Chamber of Commerce Banquet to honor a leading citizen is scheduled for Monday October 20. Community Action Agency aids elderly with medicine help
The Community Action Agency began in 1983 to assist low income elderly and handicapped residents with emergency prescription medicines. It serves Dona Ana Sierra Grant Luna and Hidalgo counties, aiding about 425 people to date.
