Alfonso Beltri born in Morenci Arizona on June 27 1923 moved to Lordsburg where raised educated in public schools he served in CCC and was drafted Feb 17 1943. He trained in St Petersburg Gulfport Alexandria Las Vegas Langley and flew with the 15th Air Force 429th Bomb Squadron on missions over the Balkans and Germany earning Air Medal. Missing in action Oct 4 1944 later reported killed in action in Germany received Purple Heart.

Local Citizen Returns From Visit to England
Walter S. Ward returned Monday night from a one month visit to England. He traveled by air both ways, reporting that postwar conditions in England are harsher than during the war with stricter regulations.
