101 Ranch Wild West Show to Visit Lordsburg

Alfredo Landon leads the 101 Ranch Wild West Show and International Congress of Circus Stars for a one night performance in Lordsburg on Monday September 23. The Golden Jubilee tour blends Wild West acts with top circus thrills including Mark Smith with Wildfire, the Gutierrez aerial troupe, and Maj. Bob Thornton’s ponies. Reserved seats go on sale Monday at the circus grounds.

BPW Club Highlights Evening Program At Woman’s Club

Last Thursday BPW members and guests gathered at 7 30 for a buffet supper served by the Educational Health Committee led by Mrs Mabel Johnston and Mrs Pansy Bonar. J Darkhuff and LHS music students performed two songs with accompanist Miss Faye Nally. Public Health Nurse Mrs George Schmit, newly arrived from Wisconsin, spoke on her work and religious education was discussed by Mrs Franklin Poage. Guests departed after the program and members held their monthly business meeting.

Verald HH Watson of Miami Arizona was driving toward El Paso when a truck forced him onto the soft shoulder near Duncan New Mexico. The car rolled twice, breaking his hip. Hospitalized by the Veterans Administration, he wed his fiancée Theresa Ann Filbert in Silver City while awaiting his release, delaying their wedding trip to Carlsbad and Santa Fe.
