Pfc Harold R Beach of Lordaburg is hospitalized at Bushnell General in Brigham City Utah after a May 1 1945 action near Lembach Aviatria. He dismounted under heavy fire to clear a road block aiding the battalion advance and earned the Orange Star Purple Heart and three Battle Stars.

Antelope Permit Draw for Roswell Area Areas Open

The six month open season covers Eddy and Lea counties in the Roswell region with 882 antelope permits in Wagdalena Beaverhead Arie Eagle Area 20 permits Fell Ranch Arie 27 permits Orrego Burk Ranch Area Hard y county and others. Season runs September 10 to October 3 with final permit applications due September 10 at 8 PM. Drawings expected to select winners. Preference given to those who did not kill an antelope last year to distribute permits fairly. Family units limited to one antelope per year and children under 14 are not eligible for antelope permits. landowners have reserved shares. Do not apply for a permit you will not use personally.

Immunization Clinic for Infants and Preschoolers Set

A clinic for diphtheria and smallpox immunizations will be held at the Earth Department on Web September 19 at 9 38 a m. All children who received these vaccines on August 21 are asked to attend, and any others unable to attend then are invited.

Victory State Fair offers $15,000 in cash premiums

More than $15,000 in cash premiums are offered across New Mexico's Victory State Fair events from October 7 through 14. About $8,000 will be paid for top beef and dairy cattle, sheep, goats, swine and horses. OPA Announces Fall Restock of Home Goods at 1942 Prices

Household washing machines ironers and aluminum kitchen ware will be back in stores this fall at 1942 prices says the OPA. Manufacturers must tag pots pans skillets washing machines and ironers with retail ceiling prices and produce the same proportion of low priced units as in prewar days.

Private Saucedo Killed in Action on Okinawa

Mrs Andrea Saucedo of El Paso was informed by the War Department that her husband Private Carlos Saucedo was killed in action on Okinawa May 24. The 24 year old soldier, born in Lordsburg, had served in the Pacific since December and worked at the Phelps Dodge Refinery before induction. He is survived by his wife and three children Carlos Jr Martha and Eduardo.
