State Engineer H W Yeo Reviews Hidalgo Groundwork

State Engineer Herbert W. Yeo visited Hidalgo county last week for a preliminary survey of underground development waters funded by the state. Anita Copper Company stockholders tour mining properties

Stockholders and officers of the Anita Copper Company, led by General Manager T F E Henderson, visit mining properties in a tours of inspection. The distinguished party includes President W T Bill, H Henderson, Arthur Langhans, E L Henderson and wife, Mr and Mrs Fowler, M H Armstrong, Gustave Roeder and others. Bighorn Game Protective Association Holds First Banquet

The Bighorn Game Protective Association held its first annual banquet at the High School Auditorium with over sixty members and wives attending. Speeches by Fred Sherman of Deming and other local figures highlighted the event along with musical numbers by Harry Rosenstein and Haywire Dall. Officers C. Morrix, Earl Kerr, and Leslie Lee organized the gathering, planned as an annual event near hunting season.

Silver City Gridsters to Visit Lordsburg for Return Game

The Lordsburg Mavericks host Silver City in a return football game Saturday afternoon. Lordsburg closed businesses for the event and a large crowd is expected after a scoreless tie at Silver City on Oct 6. The Mavericks beat Willcox 6 to 0 last Saturday and aim for an excellent exhibition.

Cloverdale Rancher Weds Miss Lorene Blocker in Hidalgo

J. H. Kicks, a Cloverdale rancher from Hidalgo County, and Miss Lorene H. Blocker of Kansas City Missouri, were married by Rev. John S. Rice in the city at 1 o'clock on Tuesday October 22.

Luncheon Club plans evening meeting in November

The Luncheon Club met at Up-To-Date Cafe with eleven members present and N. J. Scott as chairman. A second Monday in November was set for an evening gathering inviting ladies and a private venue with a good program and social time. Committees will arrange the meeting and program. The next noon gathering is scheduled for Hidalgo Grill with Harry Rosenstein as chairman.

Autos Collision on Lordsburg Road Claims Two Fatalities

Early Saturday a Whippet driven east by Alexander Muir and his son J Glenn Muir collided with a westbound Chrysler carrying Shelly Wiggins and sister Misa Nell Wiggins from Pasadena California on Lordsburg road. J Glenn Muir is dead and Alexander Muir Sr. is listed in critical condition with skull fracture. Shelly and Misa Nell Wiggins sustain minor injuries and testified at a late Saturday inquest before Judge Pennington.

Liberal Sold to Leslie Blackburn

The Liberal is sold by the current owner to Mr. Leslie Blackburn who will take charge on November 1 with the next issue. All bills from the previous management will be paid by Mr. Thomas and all accounts due to the Liberal by that date are payable to Mr. Thomas. Subscription money goes to the new management and payment can be made to Mr. Blackburn after he takes charge.

Flood damaged San Marcial faces a bank crisis after the disappearance of cashier David A. Baca from Blate Bank. The bank has been closed since September floods and records recovered from the wreckage show a twenty to thirty thousand dollar shortage.
