Lordsburg students plan a week of Red Ribbon events October 22 to 29 led by SADD and the LHS Student Council. A pep assembly, halftime activities at the Lordsburg T or C game, and a Red Ribbon Parade organized by Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Deputy Bill Cavaliere kick off the efforts.

Ronnie Kenneth Anderson, 19, of Florida, who faced auto theft kidnapping and aggravated assault charges, waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Magistrate Court. Assistance Fund Established For Gabe Guerrero

Brenda Collins has been named Assistant Editor of the Lordsburg Liberal by publishers Jack and Amelia Walt. A 1988 Lordsburg High School and 1992 New Mexico State University journalism graduate, she and her husband Randy returned to Lordsburg in June 1992. The couple have a 17 month old daughter, Brittany Maye. Collins has worked at the Liberal since April as a reporter and typesetter and will now oversee content placement and policy making.
