Hidalgo Demos Host Three-Day Hidalgo County Rally

The state Democratic party launched three rallies in Hidalgo County featuring U S Senate nominee J Vaught Attorney General candidate Frank Patton lieutenant governor contender Dee Howard district judge George Clay and Maude Green of Deming. Animas station hosted a western barbecue with over 1000 cars, goats and beef donated by locals and a dance ending the day. A second meeting drew a capacity crowd with music and led by K Payne. The Lordsburg stop at the Rialto theatre drew about 450 attendees with the party denouncing Republicans and praising the Dem platform.

Lordsburg Attorney Enters Race for District Attorney

Camp Fire Meeting Minutes At Grammar School

The Camp Fire meeting was held at Grammar School Tuesday at four o'clock with eleven members present and seven absent. A monthly program was set, with the program committee consisting of Marjore Kair ly, Mary Louise Foley, Marie Wright, and Addie Morrow. Dairyman Builds Enclosed Trench Silo For Year Round Feed

Hidalgo county farmer Anthony Conner creates a trench silo 18 feet deep 12 feet wide and 100 feet long near Lordsburg to store 190 tons of silage. Maize and corn ground together fed by irrigation water yields year round green feed for his Holstein herd and boosts milk production while costing little. A Lordsburg platoon of the National Guard cavalry will be formed under Captain Gain of Deming. Frank McCarthy reports 18 more volunteers may join. Major P. Austin will oversee examinations at no cost. Drilling, pay scales, and equipment are outlined, with McCarthy named first lieutenant in charge.
