County Commissioners approved a plan to recruit two doctors to the Lordsburg Medical Center with a guaranteed combined 100000 dollars annually for time commitments of 40 hours weekly each. Altuna Re-Trial Underway In Silver City Court

A jury from 64 prospects was chosen for the re trial of Michael Altuna on one robbery count. He pleads not guilty. Seven men and five women sit. Trial follows a hung jury in May. Judge Lee Wesley presides. Verdict expected this week.

Punt Pass And Kick Event Set For October Weekend

The Lordsburg Optimist Club announces a Punt Pass And Kick contest for youth ages 8 to 13 this Saturday at the high school football field. Parents are invited to conference day on Wednesday October 18 1989 at Lordsburg High School and Dugan Tarango Middle School. Conferences run hourly from 10 to 1 and 2 to 6 with no fixed visiting schedule. Call ahead to reserve an hour, avoiding 5 to 6 which fills fastest.
