Muir Heights Housing Named for Emma Marble Muir
Silver City’s Muir Heights new married student housing on the Western College campus will be dedicated at 11 30 a m Saturday after the homecoming parade. Judge H Wearie Payne of Lordsburg will address attendees and unveil the plaque. The project honors Emma Marble Muir class of 1897 and early Lordsburg teacher, spouse of John T Muir and mother of Rex and Mary Dee Kipp.

Paving Project Nears Dec 6 Completion Date
Two crews work on a major paving project spanning about forty blocks with grade work finished on most streets on the east side. A second crew lays five inch base on Wabash Short and Maple in the hospital area as the centerline drainage stakes are protected. Four intersections will be torn out and rebuilt with sealer coat planned for other streets. Project engineer Lester F. Dohner cautions drivers and parents to safeguard stakes and keep children from disturbing them. Completion eyed for December 6.

Two local youths faced justice court for breaking and entering Lords burg High School. Four juveniles were referred to juvenile court.
