Methodist Revival Ends With Strong Finish In Lordsburg

The two week Methodist revival closed with a large crowd at Sunday night services as many went forward. Mayor and Mrs Slanner Mrs J W Burke and Jackson Cross joined the church and will attend next Sunday. A C Bearey and others assisted Pastor Williams who plans farewell sermons before conference next week if Lordsburg wants him to stay.

Womans Club Meet Planned With Musical Program

The Womans Club will meet Monday afternoon with Mrs Sylvia Kerr presiding. The business meeting will be at Sand and the musical program conducted by Mrs Wilde will begin at 3 40. The public is invited to attend the musical program.

The Young Peoples Missionary Society held a meeting at the Methodist Church on Tuesday the 20th. A very interesting program was presented by members. Four new members joined and a special invitation was extended to youths aged fourteen to twenty-five to join.

Coons Entertain Guests At Dinner In Deming

Mr and Mrs Sam Watkins hosted a dinner Wednesday evening at the Country clubhouse in honor of Mrs Albert Field of Deming. Guests included Mrs Field Frank Coon and Mr and Mrs W F Ritter. Knights of Pythias District Convention Set for October 3

Lordsburg Knights will host a convention with attendees from Deming Hurley Columbus and Duncan and other visiting lodges next Saturday October 3. Degree work will be shown by visitors and possibly the home lodge. An welcome address by Knight Holt and opening remarks by TA Keon precede demonstrations by visiting lodges. Past Grand Chief Sylvia Kerr will speak on Temples of Pythian Misters and a COMITAC feed will follow. Visitors urged to wear fez.

Johnsons Entertain Guests At Luncheon

Mr and Mrs Chas Johnson hosted a four course luncheon at their home on Shakespeare Avenue and West Fourth Street to show guests the chicken yards and a new tenement house. Mrs Johnson formerly worked fifteen years in the Welfare Department of New York City. The Johnsons are described as valuable community assets and excellent cooks.
