Officials Summoned Over Hidalgo County Election Returns
Hidalgo County Commissioners Fausto Noce Roy Hatch and Lloyd Payne and acting County Clerk Emma Scofield were ordered to appear in District Court November 16 to address discrepancies in the November 6 constitutional amendment results. Judge Norman Hodges issued the summons after Secretary of State Betty Fiorina identified six tally errors and Scofield’s failure to sign the canvass return. sheriff’s deputies delivered the summons and the grand total was readjusted to correct the results.
