New Mexico Development Company to Spud in Playas Area Wells

Oil men from New York and Texas form the New Mexico Development Company leasing 90 000 acres near Playas between Lordsburg and the border and plan the first big test well within 90 days. J W Edwards of Houston and H Casad of El Paso lead a group including O J Perren Dallas D A Kitso Wichita Falls M C Trumbel New York and H A Hoover El Paso. They have spudded in Socorro county and expect rapid progress with multiple wells and government land eight sections held by members. Hidalgo county welcomes the venture as a serious oil effort with potential large quantities.
