USDA analysts expect farm product demand in 1945 to be nearly as strong as 1944 with supplies averaging just below current prices. They project continued domestic demand at ceiling prices may exceed supplies even as income declines after Germany’s defeat. Price support under the Stabilization Act will hold at about 90 to 92.6 percent of parity for key commodities for two years after the war. Commodities have doubly contributed to cash farm income in recent years.

Poindexter Notifies Tragedy After Brother’s Accident
Mrs J R Poindexter was summoned to Santa Rita due to her brother Gene Thwaite’s grave injuries from a highway incident. Thwaite died at 12 16 PM Wednesday and burial is set for Silver City under American Legion supervision. He worked as a brakeman for Kennecott Copper Company and was injured when a Sanddline train event caused his foot to slip and he was thrown beneath it. He leaves four brothers a wife two daughters and six or seven others.
