Missing in Action Sgt Beltri of Lordsburg

Sgt Alfonzo S Beltri, son of Mr and Mrs Alfonzo S Beltri of Lordsburg, served in the Army Air Forces from February 1948. He trained in Florida and Mississippi, then Louisiana and Nevada, before joining Langley Field in Virginia for B 17 training. He flew with the 15th Air Force in Italy, serving with the 29th Bombardment Squadron on missions over the Balkans and Germany. Promoted to staff sergeant and awarded the Air Medal, he was last reported missing in action over Germany in October and is presumed a prisoner of war.

Womans Society of Christian Service Plans Luncheon and Program

The Womans Society of Christian Service will hold a week of prayer featuring a covered dish luncheon and a two part program at Mrs. G. P. Jeffus home on Friday November 3. OPA suit against L. Lunar Night Club dismissed

Federal District Court dismissed the case brought by the OPA against the L. Lunar Night Club of Santa Fe to stop beer sales above ceiling prices. Officials said the dismissal followed the sale of the club business by Hazel Harrison Salas and George Koury to Marjorie Sudler.

Ration Stamp Validity Changes Announced

Government announces expiry and activation dates for various ration stamps. Meats and fats stamps A8 to K5 remain indefinite, LS to P5 validate October 29. Blue processed foods stamps and shoe stamps become valid on November 1. Sugar stamps No 30 31 32 and 3 percent apply indefinitely for five pounds, with canning sugar valid through February 28 1945. Gagoline A13 coupons good for four gallons through December 21. E and R non-highway gasoline coupons expire October 31.
