Jennifer Laurie Richins valedictorian and Tisha Lee Massey salutatorian head Animas High School’s Class of 1992. Richins boasted a 4.25 GPA, active in National Honor Society and drama, plans Brigham Young University with a major scholarship. Massey, 4.11 GPA, led FFA and student government, state basketball champion, eyeing New Mexico State University to pursue pediatrics. Water Tests Show Lordsburg System Meets Standards
City Superintendent Alex De La Garza reported the latest water testing in Lordsburg met quality standards after a prior notice in May 1992 indicated the maximum contaminant level for coliform bacteria had been exceeded during April 1992. The notice noted an average of one coliform per 100 milliliters, with sampling and system factors cited as possible causes. A May 19 sample tested at a Las Cruces lab showed compliance, and improvements such as an automatic liquid chlorine feeder were installed to maintain disinfection as the well runs.
