A Lordsburg report shows 3 413 motor vehicles entered New Mexico in 24 hours through two ports of entry with 7 697 passengers. Foreign licensed cars totaled 2 076 carrying 4 874 people as tourist automobiles comprised 54 percent of the daily average. The Bureau notes a 15 percent rise in foreign cars and 12 percent in people from January. early advertising likely boosted this early traffic.

Mr and Mrs W T Stamps formerly Esther Lockard were married April 10 at Lordsburg. A playful charivari party at Mrs John Scotts home led the couple from their bed to wade in the Gila river and endure stunts including a mock proposal.
