Co-Operative Mill Marks First 24Hour Run in Flotation Era

The Co-Operative Mining Co. reports its enlarged flotation mill achieved a 91.5 percent extraction in a 24 hour run. Designed by H C Walter, the plant uses Inspiration flotation machines and Alis-Chalmers crushers, with two ball mills, and plans for expansion as ore develops. Shipping concentrates to start next week.

Special Meeting of Cooperative Mining Co Stockholders

A special meeting at the company's office last Saturday afternoon drew 215663 shares present with one vote by proxy. President H C Walter Lec presided with Chas O Ball recording. Directors and stockholders debated capital needs and, by unanimous vote, agreed to increase capital stock to meet several years of demand.

Octo Mines to Reopen Under Anita Copper Co Name

George W. Foreman, vice president and general manager, says the Octo Mining Co will reopen in weeks under California law as the Anita Copper Co with a mill and small smelter planned. Stockholders resolved to transfer assets to the new company to continue development after debts around $33,000, with Foreman to supervise the start-up.

Mrs Morningstar Honored At Afternoon Event

Mrs A W Morningstar was guest of honor Saturday afternoon at an afternoon party hosted by herdaughter Mrs R FE Buvens. Fellow attendees included Mesdames Chase L R Boyd Briel Reynolds McHalffey Crocker and sister Mrs Moon of Los Angeles Augustine and Miss Salter Malone. Morningstar plans to depart for a summer outing in the east around June first.

Girls Sewing Club Holds Thursday Meeting

The Girls Sewing Club met with Cordelia Augustine on Thursday from 4 to 6 P M. Officers are Dorothy Stengle president Margaret Winslow secretary and Mar Pence treasurer. Current membership includes these officers Cordelia Augustine and Elizabeth Parke Boyd and is expected to grow.

Body of Lordsburg Marine Arrives for Burial

The body of Robert Swan of Lordsburg New Mexico arrived at noon with military escort for burial in the Lordsburg home cemetery. Swan, a private in Company I 6th Marines 9th Company 2nd Division, was killed at Soissons July 19 1918. Burial honors were arranged by the American Legion with a large wreath from state and local groups, and services held at the Christian Church.

Closing Meeting of the P T Association at the High School

The school year end closing meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association drew a large audience in the high school auditorium. Officers were unanimously approved including President Merc Hla Patten and Supt. McLeskey, with a farewell tone as many staff plan to return next year. Thomas L. Chapman, a well known Californian mining engineer, assessed mineral possibilities in the district. He was favorably impressed with the properties inspected and spoke encouragingly of mining’s future there.
