Pioneer W J Wamel Dies in Deming Knight Era
Information from Lordsburg on May 14 reports the death of W J Wamel a respected southwestern New Mexico pioneer and cattleman who passed away in Deming on May 13 1940. Funeral services were held at 2 00 pm at Mrs Daisy Upton’s home and interment followed in Deming cemetery. He was known for his integrity and as a contemporary of cattleman Victor Culbertson. His family and many friends mourn his loss.

The Hoard of Trustees of Mountain View Cemetery Association thanks the community for a recent food and rummage sale that netted 87.18 dollars.
