Elks Lodge to Host May 17 Banquet with Notable Speaker
Robert L. Batley Jr., president of the New Mexico Elks Association, will keynote the Lordsburg Lords Elks banquet on May 17 while the local B.P.CO.E. chapter observes its 25th anniversary with a dinner and dance. Batley, a native of Alabama, joined Farmington Lodge 1747 in 1955 and rose to officer, Exalted Ruler in 1965 66, later serving as District Deputy and NM North grand official. He held NM Elks posts including second vice president and president in 1975. also chaired ritualistic and Americanism efforts. He and his wife Troyetta have five daughters and two granddaughters. Mrs. Batley will attend.
