An agriculture issues open forum is scheduled Monday May 18 1992 at the Lordsburg Cafetorium. Public visits begin at 6 30 pm with the forum starting at 7 pm. As of now 24 of 31 candidates have agreed to attend to share views on Hidalgo County agriculture matters. Farm Bureau and Hidalgo County Cattle Growers urge all voters to attend to learn future county and state leaders positions. No admission fee, voter registration will be available for the general election.

Primary Care Grant Proposal Presented to Hidalgo County
A grant proposal for up to a million dollars per county in federal primary care grants was presented to the Hidalgo County Commission by Mike Fletcher of the Mimbres Hospital in Deming. The plan would fund doctor or physician assistant salaries along with operating and equipment costs, with a joint council from Luna and Hidalgo Counties to oversee clinics in Lordsburg and Deming.
