Birthday Banquet for Delta Kappa Gamma at Westerner Cafe

The Delta Kappa Gamma teachers sorority celebrated its birthday with a banquet at Westerner cafe on May 5. Mrs. Helen A and Mrs. Matalie M directed arrangements. A large birthday cake and red rose decorations enhanced the table adornments with red roses on place cards. BP Women’s Club Installation May 12

The regular monthly meeting of the BP Women’s Club will be held this Friday evening May 12 at 8 o’clock in the hall. Installation of officers will be followed by refreshments. All members are urged to be present.

The Auxiliary of Bataan Post No. 3099 VFW will host a dinner Tuesday evening May 17 at the Westerner Cafe. Mrs. Catherine Moses of Santa Rita, past state president, will be honored and install officers after the meal. A class of candidates will be initiated and all members urged to attend.

May Breakfast For Legion Women Held With Cards

A Saturday morning May breakfast at the Legion home was hosted by Mrs. Ralph Clark, Mrs. J. H. Potter, Mrs. Ernest J. Short, Obes Ima Fairly, Mrs. Richard Jill, Mrs. C. L. Brown and Mrs. William C. Musgrove with Mrs. John Bradford absent. The room featured pastel décor and rose and sweet pea bouquets. Whist prize winners were Mrs. Leon Kennedy and Mrs. H. L. Scofield, with Mrs. George Harding taking the cut prize. Bridge prizes went to Mrs. H. G. Rolfe, Mrs. Ben Cochran and Mrs. N. A. Gammon, and the cut prize was awarded to Mrs. Thomas Thompson.

First Baptist Bible School Opens with Summer Activities

The First Baptist church Bible School will open Saturday May 27 enrolling children ages 4 to 17. A 2 to 4 p m party is planned. The Vacation Bible School runs June 30 to July 11 with a commencement June 10 at 7 30 p m. A big school picnic is set for June 3. Everything is new including songs stories and crafts. The program is free and everyone is invited.

Epsilon Sigma Alpha Elects New Officers in Meeting

Miss Edith Cook elected president of Epsilon Sigma Alpha at a Tuesday evening meeting held at Mrs. Pansy Stubbs home. Elected beside her were Mrs. Stubbs as vice president Mrs. Virginia Harding as Secretary and Mrs. Sally Scofield as Treasurer. An installation planned for May 24 and a candy pastry sale scheduled for May 21 from 9 am to 1 pm in the old C P S building on Railroad Ave.
