Music and Dance Festival Well Received
An audience filled the Central High School Gymnasium for a Music and Dance Festival led by the Mutual Improvement Associations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Youths from Lordsburg Widen Duncan Franklin and Safford Wards performed in colorful numbers showing careful training. The program included ward pieces and combined numbers and also featured vote numbers such as Nations Prayer by the Youth Chorus and a solo by Edman along with a Franklin ladies trio.

State Highway Patrol Reports Two Accidents Near Lordsburg
State Patrol reports two traffic crashes near Lordsburg last week. In Steins a car and a house trailer jackknifed on Route 86, the trailer fell off a 30 foot bluff but the car escaped major damage and left the scene. Driver Alvin Curtis Joyner of Pecos, Texas, and his family were uninjured. A second crash on the Silver City Road near 18 miles from Lordsburg involved Mrs Mat tie Peter of Bayard. she suffered a broken neck, two broken ribs and scalp injuries. A one year old passenger Frankie Rodriguez had a broken pelvis and two other boys were lightly hurt.
