A special Lordsburg council meeting swore in two new members Linda Schulz and Paul Bravo after unanimously approving their names. The session also rejected all three bids to finish the Little League ball field lighting project due to faulty blueprints and readied a corrected bid for March 25 in the Lordsburg Liberal. about $3,500 of $15,000 county recreation funds were proposed for playground equipment.

The Lordsburg Optimist Club sponsors its annual Oratorical Contest on Saturday March 26 at 7 p.m. in the Civic Center for students 15 and under from Lordsburg and Rodeo. Animas Public Schools will hold kindergarten registration April 8 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in room 107 of the new elementary school. Parents must bring birth records and immunization records.
