Oil Syndicate Chief Sees Pool At Shallow Depth

The Federal Power Commission approves Southern Edison’s 200000 horsepower hydro electric project on California’s San Joaquin River as part of a 100 million dollar plan. The action enables a major expansion in the utility’s power generation capacity.

Card Table Ordinance Declared Null and Void

City Attorney Ralph Spann representing the common council and Morningstar McHalffey representing defendant Frank Johnson argued before Judge Ryan in Silver City. Douglas Rodeo highway work to finish in three months

Contractor Dan LaRoe announced that the 26 mile Douglas Rodeo highway project between Bernardino and the New Mexico line could be completed in three months with all sub Contractors resuming work. He will finance until July 41 as state highway department funding is arranged following a Phoenix conference with Governor Campbell and Cochise County officials.

Death of Robert O Bergson Marks Local Loss

Robert O Bergson a special officer for the Southern Pacific and longtime city police veteran died at age 40 after illness. Funeral services were held in Liberal with burial in Oakland after a large turnout of Masons, Knights of Pythias, Eastern Star and other groups. He was born in California and had married Flora Rafter in 1906.
