The El Paso Lions will play Lordsburg in a summer series at various El Paso venues. Lions players will handle all positions, reflecting team depth and local talent. An admission free-will offering will help cover expenses for these events.
Lordsburg polo players dropped a game to Deming last Sunday by a 10 to 0 score after Deming received a goal handicap. The rematch is set for June 30 at Deming. Lordsburg lineup included Conter, Ine, Whittenbere, and Culbertson.
The miss describes Attorney E Forrest Sanders inviting the Secretary of the Chamber Commerce from Nashville Tennessee. She notes daily rain, praises the country’s greenery, and contrasts with New Mexico sunshine and desert life.
Mrs House Harvey and her baby Mary Jolyne have returned to Los Angeles after a month's visit with her parents J and Mrs Eckert. Mary JoLyne was christened at the Methodist arch on Mother's Day, her grandmother Mrs Eckert acting as godmother. Mary JoLyne was 14 years old at the time of her christening.
At the Grand Assembly in Las Cruces Lordsburg Rainbow Girls had two members elected to Grand Offices. Misa Ruth Pleher became Grand Fidelity and Misa Kayola Wright was named Grand Representative. The group plans a prominent role in next year’s Grand Assembly in Roswell.
The June issue of Sheriff and Police dedicates a page to Hidalgo County with photos of Sheriff Charla A. Conner Chief Deputy Joe Cavin Jailer Bailey Smith and City Marshal Percy Brown. It records the county’s early frontier history Lordsburg’s transformation into a orderly town with churches schools and plans for health resort status.

Mr and Mrs Ewald Kipp announce the birth of a son in El Paso named Taylor Ewald Kipp. The name honors his maternal grandfather and his father. Taylor was photographed with Amelia Earhart using her plane as a background.
George P. Jeffus attends United States Military Academy at West Point ceremony where his son Charles J. Jeffus receives a diploma and Army commission. Charles stood among 277 cadets, later joining the Engineering Corps and slated for Fort Mackintosh in Laredo, Texas. Charles married Point Ditech after graduation, and the couple will visit Lordsburg before the father returns home.
Colonel M H Thomlinson, District Recruiting Officer, reports that units from the 2nd Field Artillery will tour Lordsburg July 16–17 to recruit for the U S Army. An Armored Car Squadron team will pass through July 1 and return about July 14, camping near the Lordsburg airport to enlist unemployed white men from Hidalgo County and nearby towns in Arizona.
Judge Carl P F Dunifen of Silver City visited Lordsburg on Wednesday to receive a $16000 bequest from the late Senator Cutting. He said the bequest was a complete surprise and is pleased that friends share in his good fortune. He believes about 10 percent will be taxed by federal and state authorities.
The Mortteague Townsend Motor Company sold three vehicles this past week including a Chevrolet Master Town Wagon to Dr. R E Buvens, a Chevrolet pickup to W E Conner, and a New Mexico Transient Relief two one and a half ton truck.
Hidalgo county lists the men employed on the Silver City highway project including Jack Stevens R R Gaile Preston Wright A L Conner Jamey Gordon Gabriel Marquez Nick Ayan from Lordsburg and Charles Richards from the Rodeo.
