Lordsburg Couple Wed In Methodist Ceremony

Dora Ellen Heather and Walter Mullins married at 8:30 Sunday morning in Lordsburg with Rev. Joe Emanuel officiating. Attendants included Mrs. Harry Chase and Hanna May Ewan. best man Harber Heather and usher Harvey Stengele. The couple will live in Los Angeles while Mullins completes embalming studies. The El Paso Natural Gas Company has set up a Lordsburg construction office to manage 51 miles of 12 5/8 inch pipeline parallel to its main line. The Rancheros de Hidalgo group replaces the old Sheriff's Posse as the new patrol. They organized Friday in Hotel Hidalgo patio and plan to appear in the Silver City rodeo parade on July 4. Man Named Rex Baker Suspected in Ranch Theft

Saturday evening Rex Baker appeared at R. M. Reynolds ranch home and asked to stay. Reynolds allowed it, but by Monday Baker vanished with Bobbie Reynolds belongings including clothes, suitcase and graduation presents. A warrant is sworn and authorities hope to recover the property. Mrs. Ray Childers and Mrs. Walter Dunagan returned from Hilltop Arizona after a week visiting Ben Page.

Sudden Death Shocks Lordsburg Friends

Lester Robertson, age fifty seven, was found dead in a rear building near his son Dudley Robertson’s home. A gunshot wound is suspected an accident as no one heard the shot and he was discovered at lunchtime. Funeral was held Sunday at Heather Mortuary with services by Rev. Joe Emanuele. Burial followed at Mountainview Cemetery. The family includes Dudley and John, two daughters in Albuquerque, and several siblings.

District Meeting N M Cattle Growers Here Sat

A New Mexico Cattle Growers district meeting in Lordsburg included Friday events at Hidalgo Hotel and La Fiesta Club, a Saturday morning session at the high school auditorium, speeches by Mayor Bhort and Willard Molt, and remarks by Joe Evans and Senator Burton Roach. Delegates approved resolutions on reciprocal trade and foot and mouth disease, welcomed 160 new members, and planned a Raton next meeting. The convention highlighted cooperation with state institutions and a large barbecue for 260 attendees.

Hit and Run Accident Critically Injures Elderly Man

W. T. Burns, over eighty one, was found unconscious on the Duncan Highway Sunday evening. He was moved to DeMoss Hospital after motorists reported the incident, and his two daughters, Mrs. R. M. Reynolds and Mrs. Etta Whitfield, were notified.
