Invitations have been received for the wedding of Dan Park Hill George and Eileen Marie Dillebay to be held Sunday June 23 at Trinity Methodist Church Newcomerstown Ohio. The nuptials were announced at a party hosted by the bride’s mother last Friday. The couple met at Newcomerstown High School class of 1941. Eileen served in the Waves and was stationed in Washington DC. discharged last December. Dan is the son of Mr and Mrs R K George and a 1941 graduate of Lorde burg High School. recently discharged from the Navy where he was a radio operator.

New Mexico In Post War Times Bread Price Increases

Walter M. Connell, district OPA price executive, announced a June 12 bread price rise. The loaf increases by one cent per pound and one cent per dozen for bread type rolls, with rye bread exempt from this ceiling adjustment.

Milk Bottle Deposit Increased to Five Cents

The maximum glass bottle deposit for fluid milk is raised from 3 to 5 cents by the district OPA division this week. The charge may apply to buyers beyond domestic consumers to encourage bottle returns amid a glass bottle shortage. Milk sellers argue many buyers delay returns, worsening the shortage.

Cotton fabrics rolling into market as production rises

Government officials say mills are producing more cotton fabrics at record speed. More velilog rayon and other materials are expected to flood the market with shirts and garments soon. Prices listed for shirts include 1.29 1.07 and 2.60 with government programs guiding costs.

Birthday Party Honors Tom Clayton Jr at Ranch Home

Golf Tournament Sunday in Southwestern Mexico

The one day Golf Tournament for Southwestern Mexico is set for Sunday the 23rd at Hurley. About sixty players are expected as the course is in top condition. Qualifying scores must be in by 8:45 with pairings at 9:00 and first round matches at 9:30. Lunch is from 11:50 to 12:30. Entrance fee is $1.00. Bring your caddies if possible.
