Robert Swan Unit No. 30 of the American Legion will honor the Junior Auxiliary, the sons of members and the Pixie Brownie Troop on Father’s Day June 19. Janis Robertson will be crowned Poppy Queen and Carl Lee Martinson will reign as King. Leaders from the New Mexico American Legion Auxiliary supervise the 13th annual Girls State encampment at the University of New Mexico. Thieves tried to pry open the Coronado Theatre safe last Sunday night but only 13 packs of cigarettes were stolen from the concession stand. Entry was gained via an emergency exit on Animas Street. the manager’s office door was forced with a jimmy and the cafe door damaged. Police investigate the tool’s ownership. no other losses reported.
