Lordsburg Family In Traffic Mishap Claims Seven

A Deming County road accident killed seven people including Evelyn Guess and her children Virginia Cecil Wayne and Janet. The car crossed traffic, went off the road and flipped on its roof near South Dugway Canyon. Two survivors were found conscious, later removed from the wreckage.

Matotan Waits City Knocks Out Damage Suit Over Tank Collapse

Albuquerque architect William Matotan and three co defendants face a district court damage suit over the 2.5 million gallon water tank collapse in July 1974. Matotan told the city council he was not at fault and urged withdrawal. The council adjourned the decision pending a future vote by the mayor and council.
