Waggoner of the Deming Luna County Commerce will preside at ceremonies in rugged Little Florida Mountain area.

Pioneer Citizen Jennie Wood Dies at 89 in Lordsburg
Mrs. Jennie Wood a longtime Lordsburg resident and active Church of Christ member died after three weeks in Hidalgo General Hospital at age 89. Born September 14 1885 in Silver City she moved to Lordsburg in 1903 and married Elias Jos teph Wood in 1905. She leaves four living children plus sister seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral held Wednesday at Meath Chapel with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.

Boone Low Bidder On Well Contract
Eddie Boone of Silver City is the apparent low bidder on a contract to drill an irrigation well and install 3200 feet of pipeline in the San Simon Cienega Wildlife Development area 20 miles southwest of Lordsburg New Mexico. The project aims to supply water for the potholes recently completed in the Duck habitat area.

Lorden Jones to Receive State Farmer Degree
Lorden Jones son of Mr and Mrs Virgil Jones of Virden will receive the Degree of State Farmer at the F FLA Convention in Tucson on August 2 1966. There were 72 applications and 32 Arizona awards. He is a Duncan High School graduate who won the Livestock award with projects including dairy heifers cotton maize sows and swine fattenings. His brother Spencer also earned the degree while in Duncan. The Jones couple plans to take Leiden to Tucson for the convention.

Recreation Program Swimming Lessons Start Monday June 13
Swimming lessons begin Monday June 13 at 8 am with an age limit of 6 17. An adult class and a special class for children under six are offered. Adult and family nights run Tuesday and Thursday 7 to 9 pm. Women must wear bathing caps. Admission is 25 cents for adults, 15 cents for high school, and 1 cent for grade school.
