Auto Transport Truck Damaged By Fire Near Port of Entry

Fire destroyed the engine compartment of an auto transport truck at the port of entry near town at 9 50 am. The trailer was unhooked and towed. cars on the trailer were not damaged. The truck owned by Le guillons Quality Autos of San Jose California was driven by Carroll Easton Boyd of Fremont California. The vehicles were headed to an auto auction in Phoenix. Earlier, a grass fire along Highway 70 near the town was reported around 4 30 am possibly started by a cigarette or match from a parked car.

Former Business Man Thomas E Hall Dies in San Diego

Word reached Lordsburg of the death of Thomas E Hall of San Diego California on May 28 He was a former Lordsburg merchant arriving from Texas in 1922 He worked at Lordsburg Mercantile Co later owned a share of Eagle Drug Co as manager until 1945 He retired to Las Cruces then ran The Friendly Drug Store before moving to Carrizozo and finally San Diego He is survived by his widow three sons and a daughter.

Final Registration Date For Adult Craft Classes
