Lordsburg faces budget vote and school changes

Local Guard Unit Heads to Camp for Two Weeks Training
The advance unit of B Battery 2nd Platoon 2nd AW Battalion National Guard left Thursday for Duna Ana Base Camp for two weeks of training. Primo Arvizo and four others set up camp for the main party due Sunday. About 14 M-42 personnel will go to Las Cruces then to the camp, while 53 officers and men under Lt Nieves Frausto depart Sunday morning to join the B Battery in Deming.

Old Timers Assn Seeks Dues From Members
Hidalgo County Old Timers Association asks members to pay dues promptly. Officers, board members, and the Chamber of Commerce office will accept payments and issue receipts. Eligibility requires 30 years residence in New Mexico, with many new men now eligible. The association sponsors the annual Old Timers parade with the county fair.
