Farm City Banquet and Style Show Thursday Night

The Flechadores Archery Club sent two members to the New Mexico Field Archery Association annual target tournament in Las Cruces on May 30 and 31. Dellon Cox won first place in Instinctive Men's Class C and his wife took second in Instinctive Women's Class C, earning a trophy and two medals for the club.

Santa Fe Railway Scholarships Awarded to NM FFA Students

Danny Martinez of Hatch and Paul Vaughn of Des Moines were named winners of Santa Fe Railway 1964 college scholarships for Future Farmers of America. The $500 awards were presented by Emory B. Jones during the New Mexico FFA state convention in Albuquerque on June 2. Martinez, a Hatch High School graduate, ranked sixth in his class and has a long record in vocational agriculture. Vaughn, a Des Moines High School graduate, is district FFA president and has expanded his farming program to include columbia owes, one ram, and eight angus heifers.

Little League play began at 9 30 with C P 8S meeting Shell. In the evening St Josephs faced Dockums at 7 30. Accident Injuries Result In Death Of Earl D Smith

Earl D Smith 63 of Lordsburg died at Providence Memorial Hospital El Paso after a two car crash on Interstate 10 two miles north of El Paso. His pickup rolled over throwing him from the cab. The auto passengers suffered severe injuries. He was born December 2 1900 in Bedrock NM and lived in Lordsburg. Survivors include two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were held at Heather Chapel with Rev Tackitt officiating. Pallbearers listed and burial planned in Mountain View Cemetery.
