On Saturday at 5 30 Judge Marsalis united Red Rock teacher Davie Balding and ranchman Joe Cloudt in a marriage that surprised locals. The couple will live on the groom's irrigated farm and the bride’s sister plans to attend Silver City Normal in the summer term. Congratulations pour in from the community.
The Last Chance silver mine is taken over by the Welch Worland Mines Syndicate of Denver. Mining engineer D. H. Finlayson becomes general manager with plans to double mill capacity and sink the Wain shaft to the 500 ft level. J G Nicholas of the White Syndicate previously led successful work at the mine.
Bh. F. Moran of Deming, noted for many contracts, rushes brick work on the Hollen Hotel addition while Contractor Heather and crew set window and door casings as fast as needed. The brick work is fixed and visible for the project.
