Memorial service held Tuesday for former LHS teacher Louise Rankin
Louise Rankin, 87, died July 22 at Sunshine Nursing Home after a long nursing home stay. Born in a Jones County Texas ranch to Lewis and Lizzie Rankin, she taught in Texas before moving to Lordsburg where she lived 50 years and taught at Lordsburg High School for 26. A memorial service was held at the First United Methodist Church of Lordsburg on Tuesday at 4:00 PM. Cremation followed at Baca's Funeral Home, ashes scattered in the nearby mountains. She is survived by her brother William Rankin a nephew Carl Rankin and friend Katherine Smith.
