Lions Club Meets at Noon with Reports and Lunch

The Lordeburg Lions Club gathered for its midday meeting with President Banks Austin and vice president Alton Powell absent. Secretary and treasurer presided as Harry Galusha discussed a Dallas trip for the chamber of commerce and Simon Ikied spoke on the New Mexico Foundation Corporation. Fausto, once absent long, recounted years of captivity in a Japanese prison camp. Twenty members attended and enjoyed a lunch served by Harold Bishop and land Cress.

Chamber of Commerce Notes from Dallas Institute

The Southwestern Chamber of Commerce Institute in Dallas July 14 20 drew over 300 students from eleven western states. New Mexico groups in Roswell Artesia Tucumcari and Raton were highlighted as Roswell previously had the state’s only secretary attendee. The Chamber board met Monday and approved a draft by law set to be presented August 19 for adoption along with future work and advertising plans.
