H Small, owner of a building site occupied by the bakery and Bion Cafe, plans to clear wreckage and start a modern two story building. He travels to El Paso late this week to finalize plans for the project.

Potato Shipments From Duncan Valley Rise At Market

Potatoes are shipped from Duncan Valley regularly with over thirty cars already sent to markets. It is expected that about forty more cars will depart this season, with roughly ten moved by truck to nearby markets. Prices remain good for valley potatoes.

Johnson from Monte Vista Sets Longstanding Chiricahua Lookout Record

A Monte Vista lookout in the Chiricahua mountains enters his eleventh year at the post on June 30, celebrating a long service career with the U.S. Forest Service. The 50 plus year old guard, stationed at a wild country lookout, has weathered lightning strikes and keeps watch over山 wildlife including wildcats lions coyotes deer and bear. Largest apportionment to New Mexico common schools

Santa Fe July 22 The largest distribution to New Mexico common schools is under way by State School Superintendent Atanasio Montoya and State School Auditor Carl Comstock. The coming school year will receive 11.48 per pupil with total funds reaching 1 3 254, an increase of 136177 20 over last year and money expected to be available early in August.
