Hidalgo pushes for Duncan road linking Lordsburg to Arizona

Hidalgo County chamber presses state highway commission to fund a Federal aid project from the east county line to Hodeo and from Lordsburg to Duncan including a Gila River bridge. The road would boost Lordsburg as a trading point and aid Hidalgo farmers while tours from Deming to Silver City are deemed impracticable.

County Commissioners Earn Praise For Budget Efforts

Foreman Ka Burns of the 5. P. water service was thrown against a stove in his car en route to Yuma. He sustained multiple fractures and was taken to Tucson hospital. He is described as one of the best men in the service.

Children meet for lessons at local churches

The kindergarten and older children attended sessions with Mrs. N. J. Scott on Tuesday and will meet Mrs. Chase next Tuesday. Mrs. Lyday entertained 40 children at the MFB church. Mrs. Clayton led an art class at the Christian church with ten attendees. A new instructor will take over when Mrs. Clayton leaves for South Carolina next week. The late Mrs. Birchfield greatly contributed to the children's work and will be missed.
