Jane Colson 88 a West Texas and New Mexico pioneer died Friday at the home of his son Dave Colson in Lordsburg. He was a Civil War veteran and Indian fighter who moved to New Mexico decades ago and owned a ranch on the Mimbres below Dwyer. Survived by three sons Will Hurley Richard and Dave plus three daughters and eight grandchildren. Burial Saturday at Mountainview Cemetery Deming under Rev Kenneth B. Carson.

A. T. McGee 66 a prominent mining figure in the region died Monday at Lordsburg Hospital after a long illness. He and his brother C. Lee McGee ran a Stein area mining partnership for sixty years and will be laid to rest in Ottawa Iowa after services there. He leaves a brother and sister in Town and is mourned by many who viewed his body at Heather Funeral Home.
