Thirty one Hidalgo County youths aged 14 to 21 participate in a CETA Summer Youth Program funded by the Employment Security Commission of New Mexico. Doctor of Osteopathy seeks Lordsburg relocation
Hidalgo County commissioners heard hospital administrator Sara Callaway report a Doctor of Osteopathy from Hamilton Texas plans to move to Lordsburg and has put his Texas home up for sale. She said the doctor is not considering other areas and Lordsburg is his relocation target. The panel also noted progress on a TV translator for the county with two Albuquerque stations nearing installation on Burro Peak. An additional translator would be needed for Playas Cotton City and Animas.

Bill Willis Named Chamber Director in Lordsburg Hidalgo County
Bill Willis of Animas was unanimously approved as the Lordsburg Hidalgo County Chamber of Commerce Director at a Monday night meeting.
