New Traffic Signal Update From New Mexico Highways

The New Mexico State Highway Department plans to install new traffic signals with three arrows for left turns green yellow red. Yellow provides clearance between green and red. red means no turn. Pedestrian signals shift away from red and green to reduce confusion in poor visibility. New signs include Wrong Way and Do Not Enter with more symbol usage. Red will dominate new regulatory markers.

Mrs. McCarty Attends Institute At WNMU

Mrs. Dors McCarty Hidalgo County Co ordinator of the Alcoholism Treatment Plan spoke at the Eighth Annual Institute on Alcohol Studies at WNMU held June 25 30. State Police officer Jerry Wood described The Implied Consent Law in Action and a balloon test demonstrated blood alcohol levels. About 150 representatives from agencies and out of state attended.

Lordsburg Police invite written applications for patrolman and radio dispatcher positions. Contact the on duty dispatcher for forms.
